Ireland
There is no Ireland-native paid memorial subscription. Irish families typically use MuchLoved (free), a US platform (€6 to €12 / month equivalent or €90 to €185 one-time), or Left This World, which is EU hosted and Eurozone-friendly.
United States
The US has the largest range. Free permanent memorials are available on EverLoved (with platform branding), Keeper Basic (1 page, 5 photos), and ForeverMissed Basic. Storage and content caps
Most free tiers cap photos, videos, or storage. Keeper free is 5 photos. MuchLoved is 200MB per page. Left This World Remembrance caps at 25 photos and 3 videos. Check the cap before you load up the family album.
Time-limited free memorials
Some platforms call the page free, then charge to keep it. Murial holds the page free for 7 days then $150 to preserve it. Remembered.com is free to create then $19.95 to commemorate. Left This World runs a 2-day trial that auto-converts.
Privacy locked behind paid tiers
On EverLoved, controlling who can post on the memorial requires the $199.99 Premium upgrade. On Left This World, invite-only is the default on every plan.
Donation processing fees
Platforms that collect charity donations charge standard Stripe processing fees (2.9% plus $0.30 per donation). These come out of the donation, not your subscription. Worth knowing if fundraising is the reason you are choosing a platform.
When paying is worth it (the honest version)
Free is often enough. If you mainly want a tribute to collect condolences in the immediate post-funeral weeks, a free option works. If you are UK-based and want to fundraise for a UK charity, MuchLoved is purpose-built and free.

Common questions
Why pay for a memorial when Facebook is free?
Facebook tributes are public, surrounded by advertising, and subject to algorithmic ranking. A paid memorial is private by default, dedicated to your person, and not subject to a feed. Both can co-exist. The reason to pay is the privacy and permanence, not the features.
What happens to my memorial if I stop paying?
On Left This World, your memorial stays online until the end of the period you have paid for. After that it goes offline, and your content is kept for at least 30 days so you can restore everything by resubscribing. It is permanently deleted after that. You can export the whole memorial at any time. Most competitors do not publish an equivalent policy.
Can I get a refund if I cancel mid-cycle?
Yes. We offer pro-rata refunds if you cancel mid-cycle. Choose to end access immediately and receive a refund for the unused days, or keep access until the end of the period (no refund needed). Cancellation is one-click from your account settings, with no retention call or hidden flow.
Are there any setup fees?
No. The Remembrance plan is £7.99 / month and Legacy is £14.99 / month, with no setup fee, no card transaction surcharge, and no required add-ons.
Do I have to give my card details for the trial?
Yes, the 2-day trial requires a card to start. The trial auto-converts to Remembrance unless you cancel. The trial is short by design, to keep the platform focused on lasting memorials rather than single-event tributes. You can cancel any time from the account portal.
