Your memories are yours: how downloading works
Every photograph, every guest book message and the life story can leave with you whenever you want. This page covers what you can download, who can download it, and exactly where to click.

The short version
Photographs and videos download one at a time, in the original quality they were uploaded in, from the Downloads page in your account.
The guest book exports as a spreadsheet with every message: who wrote it, when, and the words themselves.
A full data export covers everything else, including the life story, service details and family tree, in one file from your account settings.
Collaborators you invite can download too, for the memorials they help with.
Guests can download a copy of their own contributions from their settings at any time. The rest of the memorial stays with the family.
- All of this is included in both plans. There is no fee to leave and nothing to unlock.
Where to click
Two places in your account cover everything
Open the Downloads page
In your account, open Downloads, or use the Downloads button on any memorial card in your settings. Every memorial you own or help with is listed on one page, each with its own section.
Save photographs and videos
Each photograph and video has its own download button and saves in the original quality it was uploaded in. Nothing is recompressed and nothing is watermarked.
Export the guest book
One click exports the whole guest book as a CSV spreadsheet that opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets: every message, who wrote it, and when.
Run the full data export
In Account Settings, under Data Management, request a Data Export. You get a file covering your profile, each memorial's details and life story, posts, service details, the family tree, and download links for your media that stay valid for 30 days.
Who can download what
Owners, collaborators and guests

Everything. Photographs, videos and the guest book for every memorial you own, plus the full data export of your whole account.
Collaborators
Family members you invite to help can download photographs, videos and the guest book for the memorials they help with. Their own data export covers only their own account.
Guests
Guests can export their own posts, comments and uploads from their account settings whenever they like, in line with their data protection rights. They cannot download other people's photographs or the wider memorial; that stays with the family.
Checked on every request
Every download is authorised on our servers, per person and per memorial, every time. A link alone is never enough to reach someone's photographs.

Questions families ask
Asked plainly, answered plainly
Do photographs download in their original quality?
Yes. The file you download is the file that was uploaded. Nothing is resized, recompressed or watermarked.
Is there a single ZIP file of everything?
No, by design. Photographs and videos download one at a time, and the data export gathers everything else into one file, with download links for your media included. We have deliberately chosen not to offer a one-click archive of an entire memorial.
What format is the guest book export?
A CSV spreadsheet, which opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. Each row is one message, with the writer's name and the date alongside the words.
Can other family members download things too?
Yes, if you add them as collaborators. A collaborator can download photographs, videos and the guest book for any memorial they help with, using their own sign-in. Guests cannot.
Can guests download anything?
Guests can download a copy of their own contributions, meaning the posts, comments and media they added, as a spreadsheet from their account settings. That is their right under data protection law and it works without contacting us. What guests cannot do is download other people's photographs or the rest of the memorial. Anything a guest shares on a memorial is visible to the family that runs it, and the family can download the guest book and gallery, including what guests have added.
What happens if I stop paying?
We would rather tell you this now than have you find out later. The memorial goes offline at the end of the period you have paid for, so guests can no longer reach it. Your content is not deleted at that point: it is kept safely for at least 30 days, so if you resubscribe within that window everything comes back as it was. Export it first if you want your own copy, which you can do at any time from your account.
Is the data export my legal right?
Yes. The export exists to satisfy the right to data portability under GDPR Article 20, and you can run it yourself from your account whenever you like, without asking us.
